Everyone is familiar with the feeling of waiting. In fact, a person will spend an average of 6 months of their life just waiting in lines. “Waiting” is a street portrait series of people captured in this idle state of inactivity. Despite being such a commonplace occurrence, many people do not fully think about all that waiting entails. They try to distract themselves, with their phones, music, books, conversation, or otherwise. However, my series gives in insight into these brief moments of pause. These people transform into static statues, often with a stance of purpose. Through this series, I put the focus on what most people will not pay attention to, in a way that will allow appreciation from this different perspective.
